Privacy Policy — Horizon Tasks

Overview

Horizon Tasks (“the App”) is a task management app built with your privacy as a priority. Your tasks are your business, and your data should stay that way.

Data Collection

The App collects only the minimum data necessary to provide its features:

• Account Information: When you sign in (via Apple, Google, or email/password), we receive your email address and a unique user ID. This is used to sync your task data across devices and enable shared projects.
• Task Data: Your tasks, projects, notes, Important Things, streaks, and related metadata (due dates, priorities, recurring rules, kanban columns) — stored to power the app's features and sync across devices.
• Shared Project Data: If you use shared projects (Premium), collaborator email addresses are stored to manage project access. Contributor links allow others to add tasks to your projects — their submissions are stored with the project.
• Preferences: Your chosen theme, display settings, and notification preferences.

The App does not:

• Track your location
• Access your contacts, photos, or other device data
• Use analytics or third-party tracking services
• Display advertisements
• Sell or share your data with third parties for marketing

Data Storage

Your data is stored in the cloud using Google Firebase (Firestore) to sync your tasks across devices and enable collaboration. Your data is associated with your account and protected by Firebase's security rules — only you (and your shared project collaborators, for shared data) can access your data.

You can delete your cloud data at any time through the App's Settings, or by deleting your account.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following services:

• Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — For secure sign-in via Apple, Google, or email/password. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Cloud Firestore (Google LLC) — For syncing your task data across devices and enabling shared projects.
• Apple StoreKit — For processing premium subscription purchases. Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment information.
• Sign in with Apple — For authentication. Apple may share your email or a private relay address, per your choice.
• Google Sign-In (Google LLC) — For authentication. Google Privacy Policy

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers.

Subscriptions

Horizon Premium is an optional auto-renewable subscription ($1.99/month or $14.99/year). It unlocks additional themes, shared projects, and contributor links. Payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete all your data at any time through the App's Settings. If you delete the App without deleting your data, your cloud data will persist so it's available if you reinstall.

Your Rights

You can:

• View all your stored data within the App
• Delete all your data through Settings
• Delete your account entirely through Settings
• Export your data by contacting us

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the new policy here with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
