Build Horizons is the show about doing the hard thing before you feel ready, becoming someone new in the process. If you're done waiting for permission and ready to build a life of your choosing, this one's for you.
We've been together since we were teenagers. We're married with two kids, and we record Build Horizons in our basement.
Jeff tells the running story on this first episode: from viscerally hating running to finishing marathons. He also talks about quitting drinking. He has a psychology degree, which is why the show keeps coming back to one question: what do you believe about yourself, and who taught you to believe it?
Katy is here because Jeff kept asking her to start a podcast with him. It was outside her comfort zone and she wasn't sure she needed to do it. She showed up anyway, and the show is a conversation because of it.
Every episode is the two of us talking about the real work of change: identity, fear, failure, and doing the hard thing before you feel ready. We sign off the same way we mean it: we're cheering you on.
A horizon is the farthest thing you can see from where you stand. Every time we did something we thought we couldn't, the horizon moved. You don't wait for a bigger horizon, you build one, then walk toward it until a bigger one shows up.
Build Horizons is made by Bravely Studios, the independent app studio behind the show. Bravely builds small, sharp utilities, and it's the "build" in Build Horizons.
